The Pizza Path
I started in pizza as a dishwasher. It wasn't part of some grand plan, but it didn't take long for pizza to get its hooks into me. The smell of fermenting dough, the rhythm of a busy kitchen, and the simple joy of sharing a great meal drew me in. More than a decade later, I'm still learning, still exploring, and still obsessed with the craft.

Over the years, I've studied pizza wherever I could find it. I'm a graduate of Pizza University, have trained through Tony Gemignani's Master Class program, taught pizza-making classes, and make an annual pilgrimage to the International Pizza Expo. If there's a pizza book to read, a podcast to listen to, or an oven to cook on, I've probably spent time with it.

But the longer I've been in pizza, the more I've realized that pizza itself isn't the point. Pizza is the excuse. It's what brings people together. The conversations around the table, the local businesses that become gathering places, the traditions passed between generations, and the memories made with family and friends.

Scouty Slice is named after my son, Scout, and built around that belief: to share the craft and culture of pizza, support the communities that make it special, and create meaningful experiences centered around really good pizza.

What I love most about pizza is that it's deeply personal. Ask ten people their favorite pizza and you'll likely get ten different answers, each tied to a memory, a place, or a person. Behind every great pizzeria is a story worth telling—and those are the stories I want to share.

As artisan pizza pioneer John Arena says:
"Sono un Pizzaiolo e basta!"
"I am a pizza maker, and that's enough."
